October 17, 2011 - Montreal, Canada and Dublin, Ireland – JSS Medical Research Inc. (“JSS”) and Venn Life Sciences Holdings Ltd. (“Venn”) announced today that they have entered into a Joint Venture and Cooperative Marketing Agreement whereby the two companies would work together to combine their areas of expertise in clinical research to provide “best in class” services to the pharmaceutical industry in North America and Europe. As part of the strategic arrangement JSS has acquired certain assets of the Canadian subsidiary of Venn, operating under the corporate name Venn Life Sciences Ltd. As a result of the joint venture Venn Life Sciences Ltd. will cease operating independently in Canada and its President Dr. Sanjay Machado will work as a resource for JSS and Venn to promote the joint venture arrangement between the two companies. Dr. Machado will be based at JSS offices in Montreal.
Dr. John S. Sampalis, CEO & CSO and Founder of JSS noted: “The joint venture arrangement was timely as part of the global growth strategy executed by JSS through targeted acquisitions and key strategic alliances.” Further, he added, “The welcome addition of Venn’s strategic positioning in the European market and strengths in the area of monitoring and project management services will augmented the science-based services offered by JSS.”
